In 2012, Michael will begin a period of research into a new play supported by Theatre Writing Partnership's Making Tracks scheme. Inspired by the premiere of Ravel's Bolero at the Paris Opera in 1928 and Torvill and Dean's Winter Olympics victory to the music in 1984, Michael will visit Paris and Sarajevo and draw together the two strands of the story in a raveling and unraveling of sport, politics and conflict.
